So I'd posted on our local facebook group about my desires of doing a V8 Volvo wagon after school is done. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do a V70 or a 240.
My wife wants me to get some 4-door something or other and be a sensible man-child.
Heh. Well, I can do sensible and still have my fun. And I love wagons!
Well, my buddy said there was one with an "abandoned" sticker on it just a block from his house. 5 speed 240.
Drive over there after class, it's a bit rough but all parts are there except a busted turn signal lens and pretty worn paint/interior. Knocked on the front door of the house it was parked in front of and the homeowner said they were holding it for a family friend that was in the pokey. She had been trying to get the title so they could sell or junk it.
In true Jalop fashion, inside I screamed "NOOOOOOOOO!" But outwardly I nicely said, "Please don't junk it."
She said if nothing has transpired and the owner doesn't want it in two weeks time she'll call me back. She said it runs and drives fine, called it a "beast."
I hope I can nab it, would be nice to have it as a daily to put my Firebird on weekend warrior duty. Especially once all the mechanical stuff is gone over as well as the suspension which is probably long worn out.
And tint. Good lord why do people live in Texas and not have tint on their cars?
Anybody have any tips on what to look for or be wary of? I know rust isn't a big issue here, but I'll look for it anyway since most of these were nor'easter cars anyway.

Hopefully the guy isn't in jail for murdering someone who took his car while he was in jail.

Lol no, I believe it is for posession of controlled substance.
If they legitimately get the title and everything I'll make sure it gets done correctly.

Leave the T5 in the R and just build it to make 600hp. Rs are the best.

No, she didn't. I'll be patient. A lot easier to deal with than an actual abandoned car that I'd have to track the owner down before the towing service snagged it.
